Open Phone → Houses to inspect available homes. The official help distinguishes renting with three weeks upfront from buying outright, and also describes building on owned land through Invest. Check whether the offer is a place to live, an owned home or a rental property for tenants before paying.
Rent, buy or build

The onboarding screen says rent is paid each Saturday. The housing interface warns that each home has its own rent, so keeping another home can retain an obligation. Nepo rent support is a separate background benefit; it should not be assumed for a LAPO start or every later home.
Confirm the home you actually obtained
After accepting the quote, check the home or property list for the selected name and area. For your residence, go home and confirm the scene and home label. In the property recording, KKC adds an Abuja home, then separately buys properties listed under Houses. The property-management page shows holdings and rental controls; owning a letting property is not the same as having a tenant.
A later official ownership message explicitly distinguishes a home you own from staying on as a tenant after selling. Read the confirmation before assuming that a sale lets you keep living there rent-free. The move-out control also warns that moving out has no refund.
Rent day and missed payments
Keep at least the next displayed rent obligation available before optional spending. The game’s rent messages distinguish a paid week, unpaid rent and a Quit Notice. That notice describes owing two or more weeks and requiring a move to cheaper accommodation. Its prescribed response is the move action shown on the notice; it is not a guarantee that ignoring it preserves the home.
The inspected response clears the old arrears and moves the Sim to the cheaper home state. The visible notice names Mushin, while the rule also supports city-specific fallback homes, so read the actual destination on your account. Confirm the new home, furniture/storage and next rent after moving. This is a documented game response, not a new eviction experiment performed by this guide.
Renting to other players
The rental interface can show Agent, Players, occupancy and earned rent. Current instructions say tenant rent reaches the business till at 6 PM and shares that till with company/shop bills. A property in the list or an agent switch does not establish collected rent.
If rentals are paused, the interface says homes remain safe; wait for the service rather than repeatedly buying. Read investment and settlement checks before comparing rental income, and use earning methods to rebuild a surplus if rent is consuming your entire wallet.
