You do not choose Nepo Baby by selecting a trait, dream or expensive home. Lagos Life’s setup presents a Birth lottery, and its current notice says the result is decided once for your account: starting a new life does not change it. There is no supported reroll recipe or published probability in the sources checked here.
What Nepo and LAPO mean
The official descriptions frame Nepo as a connected, supported start and LAPO as a self-made start with a loan. Their listed benefits explain why two fresh accounts can begin with different resources.

Recognize the assigned result
During character setup, finish appearance, the two traits and the dream choice, then allow the lottery screen to resolve. The MoneyPro-Tips recording shows the rolling animation followed by LAPO Baby! and a route into housing. That is one observed account result; it does not establish the odds of either background.
The current setup also includes a message for a lottery connection failure, which describes a self-made start. An incomplete animation is not evidence that choosing a different hairstyle, waiting a particular number of seconds or changing the device controls the draw.
Can you change it later?
The explicit once-per-account notice rules out using a new life on the same account as a supported change method. The Terms separately prohibit account farming, account sales and unauthorized sharing. Do not treat a seller’s “guaranteed Nepo” account or repeated registration instructions as an official feature.

Start from the resources you actually have
For a LAPO start, reserve the displayed loan payment and rent before optional purchases. Use the learning advantage to develop the skill relevant to your job; it does not remove application or shift conditions. For Nepo, check the inherited job and rent support rather than applying advice written for a first-time job seeker. Both backgrounds still need food, rest and other needs.
